That's the best way to round out/build your stock pile......by shopping the sales, and buying multiples of the things you find on sale....not just one or two items, but like a years worth! You just cant beat that method! Glad you're working on your food storage, Linda. Wish more people would do that.

Aldis!!! I started going to Aldi's when I was in KY and I miss is soooo much! In fact yesterday we were in Walmart and we barely bought an food and it came to $174!!! We didn't even fill the cart! I looked at DH and told him that if we had been at Aldi's we would have 2 carts full for that amount of money!! I miss them!!

Aldi's is WONDERFUL! I do wish they'd expand their market a bit. I keep telling people how great they are, only to hear that there are no stores in their state.

We do not have an Aldi's near us. Not even sure where the closest one is. Have never shopped in one. Would like to.

We went to an Aldi's on our trip and ended up putting the things we had in the cart BACK on the shelves and leaving. Their selection was limited and the prices were not that great. Either we got some "hick" Aldi's or I am very spoiled!

Perhaps it was a regional price difference (for instance, Washington DC or NYC groceries always cost more than here in Ohio).
I have only about 3 times in 20 years seen a price at Aldi's on ANYTHING that was more than the same item anywhere else I had seen the same item in the same town.
