This 5 year old child was subjected to a drug test (without his Mother's consent, I'm guessing). It came back positive, and they dragged him away from his Mom screaming. They put her in jail. And slandered her to the news nation wide.

Then they said, oops, the test was wrong.

My issue is, even if the test was "right," the "authorities" abused this child horrifically. To take him screaming from his Mother? What were they thinking?

Not very often do I wish to see an organization sued into bankruptcy, but in this situation . . . :x

(And that's only 'cause I don't BELIEVE in the death penalty ;) )

She was having him screened for ADHD and they tested him for cocaine? Is that normal?

(think you put that on the wrong thread, Sis ; )

It is becoming more and more common for testing to be done without patient or parent consent. It is enraging.

The last time I was pregnant, before my miscarriage, the doc tested me for communicable diseases without asking or even telling me. It's "state law" - so they don't even bother to let you know what they're doing.

In Ohio, they test newborns routinely for drugs without parental knowledge or consent - and again - if the test is positive, they take the brand new baby from its Mother. It's a horrible crime IMO - no due process, no anything. Just cruel & abusive. :(

No? They "found" the "cocaine" when she bro't him in to be tested for ADHD. I so totally agree about "cruel & abusive"! That's exactly why it was a no-brainer to transport my friend and her 2yo away from authorities. She only knew that was the plan because she had a friend that worked with the DSHS!
