Yup. It's a wet dough. You may have mis-measured something, or perhaps your flour had settled too much. You might be able to save it by adding 1/4 cup warm water & stirring again (sorry for the delay - we were schooling on another tab! ; )

It's been sitting a little over an hour now and i just checked it. It seems appropriately moist. My flour had settled, i think. I'm pretty excited/happy with myself that i got that done. It's *SO* simple that i feel dumb for procrastinating. Now i'm out of yeast, tho', so i better get that or next time i'll have a good reason to put it off! :P

So glad that it worked!

On the Challah recipe in particular, it's important to add the ingredients *in order* because some of them (particularly the potato flakes) soak up the water a lot faster than the others - leading to an appearance of dryness. Maybe that's what you had trouble with?

Anyway, glad it's working now : )

Happy Baking! And Good Shabbat!

I did put them in in order but do you stir them in as you go? or at the end? I just dumped each thing in and stirred at the end. Then we went to town and .... i guess i'd better go put it in the fridge!
