I've never made gumbo before. I saw a picture online of someones dinner, and it got me thinking. I have leftover chicken, sausage, and okra. Hmmm? So I googled a recipe.
I did add cabbage to it. I have plenty of cabbage, the kids love it, and its a good way to stretch a recipe.

I'm using my new crockpot that dd's boyfriend gave me. I can't wait for dinner because my house smells so good right now!

Or, maybe it's like Chex cereal - you know - if you don't like Chex cereal, you've never tried Chex cereal.

There are SO many ways to cook it - I have trouble imagining not liking ANY of them. I find it's really good just sauteed whole with salt & pepper (& very light oil).
