My dad's health is consistently declining and yesterday I was told to make sure I have everything in order for him, which I do, except for tracking down the minister he wants to do his celebration of life. He has been consistently getting weaker and his heart, despite being on medication and herbs for it, continues to slow down and he can hardly walk. I had to get help getting him in and out of the car yesterday at the doctor's office and was afraid I was going to drop him. : ( I think since he heard about the house selling, he's just giving up, but I'm not sure. He thanked me yesterday for all the help I've given him and told me he was grateful for my overseeing their affairs through the years. He shed a tear and hugged me tight.
It was kind of a surreal moment to think that it was a goodbye of sorts. Bittersweet moment, for sure.

We're keeping you all in our prayers. It's so helpful to have a chance to say those things you need to say.

I forgot to post that I have to firm up his living will and list specific things I do or do not want to have done in the end...better for me to get this done now than when it's really needed. Praying this weekend about what to decide.

Wow, that is bittersweet. We know that we all have death in our future, but so hard to grasp the reality of it until it is so present before us. Praying for many beautiful memory making moments between you before his death arrives. You have been a wonderful, supportive daughter.

(((Cindy))) I'm so glad that your dad blessed you with that special moment. Praying for the Lord's will to be revealed.
