Has anyone here ever used silicone bakeware? I am intrigued by it because they say that stuff doesn't stick and can be popped right out. BUT, does it brown/crisp the bottom & edges of baked goods like muffins or cookies, or do they come out soggy? It LOOKS so much like plastic that I cannot get over my impression that it would turn out stuff that seemed like it had been cooked in a microwave. It comes thru my thrift store often enough that I imagine I could get some pretty readily if I wanted it without breaking the bank. Has anyone used this stuff and loved (or hated) it? Thanks.

I have not tried them. I do have silicone molds I have used with soap and plaster for crafts. I can't get over the plastic feel to use them for baking, either.

I've used a silpat(?) mat. It worked great! I never remember to use it again, tho'. I feel the same about using the "rubber" bakeware. If I baked more I might try it. Funny how no one here has even said they've used it. Hmmm.
