I think the world of their company already because
1) they close on Sundays! : ) and

2) they have great employee-treatment policies - did you know (last I heard) a retiree could manage one of their stores for 5 years and get a second retirment check?

Now, add a third thing.

I do wish they served something that I eat, so I could patronize them, because I really admire their values.

Anna, you can't have their salad?
I love their little side salad. It used to cost only a dollar but it's probably $1.50 now.
It does come with sunflower seeds on the side in a little packet you add yourself, I am not sure if you can have them.

I think it has cheese on it I can't remember. If so I always take the cheese off. I have no idea why people put cheese in a salad?? Yucky to me!!

AH, yes, salad! I get offered salad at every place I go to eat!

I am a vegan, not a bunny! ; ) I AM soft & cuddly, so I can see how mistakes could be made ;) , but to me, lettuce is not a meal, but a side dish. (hope you get my offbeat sense of humor here)

And, I can't see heading to a restaurant JUST for a salad - they're so easy to pour into a bowl from a bag at home.

I wish more places had basic, stick to your ribs vegan offerings that everyone enjoys - baked potatoes, meat-free beans or lentils, steamed or boiled veggies, healthy breads (not bread with added sour cream, butter, sugar & eggs!, Maybe even a whole grain or two) even pasta - you know, just basic stuff you could make a meal out of if you didn't eat meat, cheese or eggs.

It's true, nearly everywhere offers salad

I do get that salads can get very old! It's hard to find any kind of fast food that offers anything vegetable wise other than them, though.
I'm not thinking that salads are all you eat, lol! I know better NOW after having you on here for a while.
I admit that before I met you, I had no idea how anyone could live vegan... I really did think it was all-salads-all-the-time. So.. you are educating me in that respect.

Hope you don't mind my teasing : )

Good fast food choices (not all perfectly healthy, but okay when you're on the road)

Wendy's Baked potato
Subway's Veggie Delight sandwich (no cheese)
Taco Bell's 7 layer burrito without cheese or sour cream, or their bean burrito fresco.
Skyline Chili's Black Bean dishes (they're a Greek Owned company, and if you ask, they'll customize vegan for Lent : )

It's kinda weird, but I'm not really a big green-salad eater (and, I don't look like one, either  )

One thing I am trying to get better at is choosing healthier foods when eating out. I know that it isn't always the healthiest choice, but when we have no other choice, then at least it's better than a hamburger.
oh.. I don't mind your teasing...

Yesterday when we were gone all day long... ugh.. we ate at chilis. My mom and I both ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. ONLY.. my mom just ordered what came on the menu and I ordered the one from their healtheir choice menu.
Hers came with BACON!! Cheese, and honey mustard! and french fries...!!
She looked at mine and said "I should have ordered that one."
Mine was whole wheat bun, lettuce (iceburg! lol) and tomato. I had the sauce left off and added low fat mayo myself.
It came with steamed brocolli but it had some kind of awful smelling cheese on top. I had to pick through the cheese to eat it. Still, it wasn't the "best" meal, but it was better than the other option.

Yup - I'm surprised that the bacon wasn't on the "healthy" one!

I've never been to a Chili's but I get that impression . . .

Sounds like you made the better choice : )
