So, the other day, DD said, "EVERY KID in every video & see & every book I read goes to far away school! Every one!"

Does anyone know of well-written books or videos (early elementary interest level) that feature homeschooled kids? Ones that you can really recommend (I want them to have *something* to recommend the text in addition to the fact that the characters are homeschooled - you know, like an interesting plot ; )

Many years ago I remember a series about a homeschool family that got to travel with their dad sometimes. They always discovered mysteries. They weren't written "great" but they were ok. As good as most books I see these days. I have no idea what they were, tho'.

Someone just needs to WRITE some! Tell your dd to write what she would like to read! :)

The Bluedorns have written some nice picture books about homeschooled books. Take a look on the review page. There are some other ones there, too!

Hey, how about Nim's Island or Swiss Family Robinson? :)

Ballet Shoes (I don't remember anything about "school" in it.)

Carry On, Mr Bowditch (he schools himself)

Heidi

Jack and Jill (Alcott)

Laddie (Gene Stratton Porter)

Ten P's in a Pod (non-fiction)
