Hello all - back here after many years away from hsing my dd (who's now 22). Now I'm tutoring/teaching other children and a special needs child. I want to do a weekly Bible lesson with them (ages 3-10). Ideas from you all would be fabulous! :-)

Simply doing your reading lesson from a Children's Bible can be a huge help. (I do every day's reading lesson this way)

"The Beginner's Bible" http://www.amazon.com/Beginners-Bible-K ... %27s+Bible

or

The Young Reader's Bible http://www.amazon.com/Young-Readers-Bib ... C+children

are a couple we have enjoyed a lot here.

Hi Lorraine! Nice to "see" you, again. To answer your question, if you are on Pinterest, here is a good start...http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q ... for%20kids

However, what my friend did with her two children. She gave them a blank sheet of paper...no lines. As she read a short story from the Children's Bible, she has them draw their "interpretation" of the story. Then, when she was done reading, they would each "come to the front of the class" and tell everyone what their picture meant. She then saved all of their artwork in a folder so as relatives and friends came over, they would bring out their notebook to show everyone. She said that way they "sat" still while she reading, and they were truly paying attention.

Hi Lorraine,

We used The Golden Children's Bible Story Book. I read the story and then would have the child narrate it back to me. I would write it down, and then they would copy it into a sketch book and illustrate it. We still have those, and they are wonderful!!!

We did that for awhile and it was amazing! I was always surprised with what the kids came up with. :)
