All of my boys have had delays with reading, my daughter didn't she was able to read nearly as well as she does now before she was three years old, *and she likes to read a lot.

So now that I've had a teacher working with my youngest she's basically saying he does have dyslexia.

My son will only be meeting with her once more before we leave. So I was wondering how can I encourage my sons to read when they are really struggling a lot with reading, will I need to just hire someone to work with them until they are reading better?

I'm really at a loss as to what to do, because they absolutely have to read, they can't go through life at the level they are at.

Eye exercises can be done at home for free, and they will make a huge difference! Take a look here for more info:

Okay, thanks. I hope something will work, the Shepherd's Center said that he needs a reading specialist, that he has a form of dyslexia but not the traditional kind everyone thinks of where letters numbers and letters are reversed or turned upside down. She told me that there are different forms of dyslexia (I really didn't know that)

I'll look at the link you posted in a few minutes, maybe it'll be something that will help him. One of his brothers has the type of dyslexia everyone thinks of and still reverses his letters and even turns his letters upside down and side ways.

I've not mentioned it before that he's been really struggling in this area because I kept thinking it would just work itself out especially since he is able to form his letters the way he should, and because he is really smart in other areas, (two different hospitals have now tested him and confirmed that he doesn't lack in intelligence he just struggles with reading, his memory is near perfect he can remember most anything.
