Has anyone used SOS Math, specifically Pre-Algebra and up? I am just wanting opinions on ease of use and how well it covers material, how easy it is to understand. I am planning to use SOS for Bible, History & Science this next year. My kids have watched the samples on line and are excited about using it. I have been planning to use Teaching Textbooks for Pre-Algebra and up, but I am not sure if we are going to be able to swing the cost of it.

Thanks in advance for the help.

My ds used SOS for pre-algebra, and honestly, I don't think it gave him the background he needed. He wasn't the most diligent student though...

Thanks, Martha, I guess I will keep looking and praying to find the right thing for us.

Have you ever looked at Life of Fred math? My child is still in elementary but the books go up to college level math. I can find you a link if you need. Their site has sample pages. I really like what we have done in it so far.

I have looked at Life of Fred. I'm not sure if they would work for us. I guess i should just buy one of them and try them. How many of the books do you do in a school year?

We did several last year but as you go up in age, it is around one per semester or year I think. You could email the place I buy them from, ray@horriblebooks.com. He answers promptly and his books aren't horrible :) Or the man who wrote the books email is stan@stanleyschmidt.com. I would be interested in hearing how people like it for high school too. Maybe you could find one cheap on ebay to try.

Hope you find something you like. Horrible books has other things besides Fred, too.
