For my daughter, we got a couple of books from the library--mostly practice tests, but with other stuff in there, too. Then every Saturday morning, she would take a time practice test. I think that was what helped. Yes, she did raise her score, but mostly because timed tests scared her. I will also add that Skye was awarded a scholarship for students scoring 27 or above on the their ACT. She scored 26. However, the committee received her "college transcript" of courses taken while in high school--all As. I think that helped!

I have no experience with the Act prep. I have taken a number of similar tests including the ACT over the years. I usually do well (which is to say, I feel the tests are accurate, or even make me look better than I am!) walking in "cold"
For one other test, I did prepare with a book available from the library. Put a lot of work into it, and actually lowered my score from the pre-test!
I think if, like Kysa's daughter, you are scaed by timed tests - the prep might help.
But, if like me, you are comfortable with the tests and how they work, I'm not sure the prep course actually improves your grasp of or skill with the content.
