We are reading thru the Beginner's Bible right now

We just got to the New Testament, with all the stories of Baby Jesus. Little One is using her play Nativity Set as she reads, to "act out" the story.

Reading is more fun, and comprehension is helped.

I'm sure lots of you have done this, too, but we're enjoying it : )

We once used a Bible program that often had the participants act out or draw out (or something - playdough, puppets,...) for most of the stories. I really liked the idea of it but we always seemed to get bogged down in it. Just making the 12 sons of Abraham..... whew! hehe

One thing that helped me was making a timeline. We'd always put the story or character on the timeline. Our timelines included Bible characters, historical events right up to their birth... or now, Hurricane Sandy! We put books and art and music on it.

Anyways..... glad she's able to visualize the story in that way. May she be thoroughly blessed in God's Word.

Yup, Sis - I definitely wouldn't do it every day! (I'm not "fun")
but it's nice for a once in a while thing : )
