She will finish her MUS Primer next week. She has been doing a full lesson (6 pgs) every day. I had planned on her starting this book in the fall for Kindergarten, so now I don't know what to do. I've thought about buying her some of those math workbooks from Walmart. She's really into workbooks. I think she MIGHT be able to start the MUS 1st grade Alpha workbook if we go really slow, but slow is not her pace. She will still want to be doing 6 pgs a day, so I am thinking about using the Alpha book at a slow pace and supplementing that with other cheap workbooks like the Walmart ones. I've evven thought of buying her another Primer and having her do that again, but I'm afraid she will find that boring and tedious, since she's already done it once. *sigh* What would you do? I don't want to spend a lot, since I hadn't budgeted in extra math for her.
She's turning out to be the same way with reading. Just learning to sound out small words and gets mad that she can't read the whole book!
Hi there~
For supplemental math, my DD has been using beestar math after school. It's free for all grades. You will definitely enjoy it. DD loves the challenging worksheets that really help her thinking. It's a great fun to compete on it with other kids from a lot of other states. Plus, I notice recently that beestar comes up with high school math and that's free, too! It seems that we can use it for a long time:)
