Have not tried this, but saw it on a post in a different group a few minutes ago.

Celery seeds are used as a diuretic. People who are suffering from gout and arthritis may find celery seed helpful, as the diuretic properties promotes the clearing of uric acid crystals collecting in the joints. They are also anti-inflammatory, helping to reduce the swelling and pain.

They have the ability to lower blood pressure and cholesterol, aid milk flow in nursing mothers, and freshen breath. Avoid in pregnancy if you are experiencing bleeding.

For a great little site on nutrition, go to nutrition-info.com.

My mother has gout flare-ups from time to time. What has helped her the most is Summa...she gets it from Nature's Sunshine.

She doesn't eat very much at all, but when she does, it is not rich foods at all...usually very bland, such as plain rice, potatoes and some chicken (she has digestive problems as well, which is another story.) She very rarely drinks any soda.

When she has a flare-up, she starts taking Summa and gets almost immediate relief.

What Laurajean is referring to is called SUMA Combination (sorry for mispelling). It contains Atragulus, Ginkgo, Gotu Kola, Eleuthero, and Suma. There are 100 capsules in a bottle and the wholesale price is $15.50

The body systems that benefit from using this combination are the adrenal glands, brain, glandular system, liver, nerves, and the pineal gland.

The properties of the above herbs are as follows:
adaptagens, antioxidant, cerebral tonic, Glandular, Immune Stimulant

If you have any other questions let me know.
