Well, we are all going to die, but I would rather live a healthy life. Pushing a diet to live longer is the wrong focus.

I'm very impressed by the sample size & duration of the study! That's a LOT of people being watched for a LONG time!

The Paleo diet has long troubled me because of its roots in evolutionary theory.

Uh huh. Another one of "those" studies. :? I really don't need a study to show me which diet is best. I read the Maker's food plan in Genesis.

Unfortunately, our food has been tampered with to the point of being iffy. (And none more than meat!)

It's hard not to jump on the bandwagon when the results are great, at least short term. When i first did the Atkins diet the biggest thing that i came away with was "wow!" - the mental clarity that took over the fog in my brain was immediate! Then my legs got lumpy! I got kinda scared but within days they smoothed out - it was like melting butter in a pan! I lost weight quickly eating bacon and butter and cheese! 8-)

But never did i think it was healthy. I happened to sign up for life insurance shortly after that and they did a basic blood test checking cholesterol and stuff - my numbers were all good. That was back around ... 2000? (How can 2000 have been 18 years ago?!!! )

But it goes against my theology and i can't shake that. Either Genesis is true and mankind was created to thrive on a plant based diet, or Genesis, the Bible, Christianity is all wrong and then..... who cares! There are bigger things to worry about if Genesis is not true!

Besides, that study says people enrolled from 1987 thru 1889, huh?
