Great article on Teflon. I have been talking to my clients about this for quite some time. SO glad others are in agreement with me on this. I honestly believe my mom and dad have dimentia from mom cooking on teflon pans that were constantly peeling and they'd still eat off them. Open your eyes...this stuff has infiltrated our homes, our clothes, our carpet, our cookware, and our food supply. Yes, you read right. They are even coating the inside of cans with this stuff. Beware!

One thing this article lacks is what can one do to cleanse the body of the contaminants. We use stainless steel, but have eaten food that was made in teflon pans in the past, and who knows how often if eating at a potluck.

It would be good to have some strong information on what to do once one has been exposed. What, how much, how long... until a body could be detoxed, or if a body can be totally detoxed from this.

I'm on my way out the door for the rest of the day, but I will post something tomorrow about how to detox your system of Teflon. " )

I'm so glad you posted this; I've been throwing out my teflon pans and not replacing them. Using stainless steel now; need to buy a few more frying pan sizes.

I haven't used teflon in years, but we did a recent switch to mostly cooking with cast iron pans for the added iron.

I have some old stainless steel pans we've had for years since our first year of marriage, that we use to supplement the cast iron. I just don't like the cleanup on either...but am learning the soak method seems to work for me, as long as I don't forget to finish the cast iron before we go to bed so it doesn't get rusty. Sometimes I forget, and have my work cut out for me the next morning.
