Post subject:  BMI vs. Actual Weight

I am 5'7", and typically weigh in around 147 to 150. Before I left for 2, Sea Cadet trainings, (back to back), I weighed an even 150 while my BMI was 33.8. Now, 3 weeks later, I weigh 159, but my BMI is 28.9.

Now, 4 days later, I weigh in at 155 and now my BMI is rising to 30.9.

Sooo, my question is now that I am starting to lose the weight and my BMI is going up, is this a good thing with my BMI going up or should it be going down with my weight loss? Thanks.

The BMI should go down as weight goes down. That being said... I am not a fan nor a believer in BMI numbers.

How is the BMI being figured! If you're just using the math formula, it's inaccurate as you change muscle mass. Is your waist measurement going down? My understanding is, if the waist measurement is going down as the formulaic bmi goes up, go with the waist.

Sounds like you're doing great! 😊

My Fitbit scale is telling me. :) I did measure my waist and it is right on point.
