I LOVE the lentil sloppy joes from the FOK website.

I'm sure that's what Lisa means, Sis- it's a "standard abbreviation" in the vegan community ; )

I've always strongly disliked sloppy joes - our school served them and they could manage to ruin ANYTHING! So, I've never been motivated to try a vegan version - but I imagine lentils would work great in them : ) Glad you found a good go-to meal for your family, Lisa : )

I've been playing around with the leftover majadera. I mixed it with fried onion/ mushroom/ garlic and some bread crumbs and made patties. I had to season it a little more. Seems like the lentils "soak up" the salt or something. I'll probably use these for dinner tomorrow night or send with the boys fishing, if they go.

I still have enuf leftover to try the soup. :) Or something!

Hey! have you ever made the lentils with barley?

Yes, Forks Over Knives. It's quite different than regular sloppy joes, but has a similar sweet flavor to it. Sloppy joes were one of my favorites, but I like the lentil version as a replacement when the rest of the family has the real thing. I actually think it's good enough that the whole family would like it, if I can get them to try it.
