Well, we tried "rice paper" for the first time today and I'll just say that there were so many comments about feeling like these "spring rolls" just came out of the dog that I almost got sick. The sticky nasty rice paper was like the sack the babies come out in. And yes, the dog liked them! :roll:

Dh said these can go on the "Neverneverland" list. And I AGREE!

Yeah - I had a package a while back, and after trying them once, gave the rest away. I didn't find them as objectionable as you did (perhaps because the lack of comments at our house), but still, not worth the investment of additional ingredients to make more.

I love the idea of the dried papers that turn into a wrap. I may try to find something else to do with them. Hmmm

I like rice paper wrapped candies - but that rice paper is MUCH thinner!

I found this in the comments section on the Kitchn - altho the commenter then suggested dousing it in condensed milk :roll:

"You can put a wrapper in the microwave on a napkin - heat for 45 seconds. This turns it into a rice cracker like thing."

But, it might be worth experimenting with for a different texture : )
