So, dh's blood sugar continues to stay low. He hates the shakiness associated with the low blood sugar so always wants to push it up. We had a simple supper of beans and brown rice because we weren't very hungry but his blood sugar was in the 80's before his shot and he felt the rice and beans wouldn't be enuf to keep it up, SO he had a pb&j bagel (the skinny bagels) for dessert. He also has some chips and salsa to snack on later.

I'd like him to talk to his nurse about this instead of trying to keep his blood sugar UP. Maybe she would suggest cutting his dose down more. Right now it's a big balancing act.

Well - he's right low blood sugar is dangerous!

It sounds like another adjustment might be in order - and that's a good thing : )

I KNOW! But, if he eats more sugar/carbs so as to not crash then it won't LOOK like he's taking too much. Actually, last night he skipped his evening dose!!! He wants to see where he's at this morning. I'd rather he run high than too low. He's gotten down to 58! His pulse runs low, too, so I can picture myself checking his pulse if he crashes and thinking he DIED!

Yeah -it's my understanding that low is more dangerous than high. I had a diabetic friend tell me that if they crashed & I had to make a decision what would help that it would be much wiser to give them sugar than insulin.

A can of regular soda, a cup of juice, jelly beans, lifesavers, a candy bar.... yep.
