I am fighting the blues right now. Not sure why. We've been doing great on the vegan eating altho' it's been hard to get myself to cook all these weird new foods. :? I can't believe I'm out of YEAST! LOL I won't buy little packets this time.

Dh has been putting tongue and groove pine boards on the fireplace wall and I really like the look. It's also shown us how crooked the window frame is! There's 2" at the bottom and less than 1/2" at the top from the last pine board! I can't see it from where I generally sit so I guess that's ok. Now what to do with the ceiling?! We have the kind that looks like painted cardboard squares! ugh

Anyways, it has been cloudy most days but decently warm - in the 30's. I've kept up with my Bible reading. Not so much with cleaning. :( Finding it hard to stay off the puter when I should be doing other things. Like NOW. sigh Been thinking about ds quite a bit again. Going on 4 years now! One of my "theme" songs right now is "Empty Me" and ds used to sing that quite a bit. I hear his voice every time I hear the song.

Hey! Dh left so I'm going to practice piano. I want to learn the song well before he ever hears me play it. I do let dgd hear me while I'm learning so she sees that it's not just her that has to play something over and over and OVER again to get it.

Well, you do have a LOT going on - enough to trouble anyone! Your DD's potential move & loss of all her work, your Mom's advancing age & potential move, and grief for your DS - add to that a change in routine for a new diet, and remodeling. Yeah - you have grounds for stress (((Sis)))

(I buy my yeast in the 2# economy pack from GFS - those little envelopes are useless!)

And, yeah, maybe I DO have a lot going on. I don't think of it that way; just seems like "life". ;)

GFS is Gordon Food Service - they're a store that sells large packages of things (like Sam's Club) but doesn't require a membership (unlike Sam's Club)

https://www.gfs.com/en/gfsstore/locator

Now that I look, I see they're only an eastern chain. Can't believe that y'all can get miso, but don't have gfs! But, your co-op probably has bulk baking yeast ; )

I mostly shop at Winco. Do you have those? I think prices are mostly comparable to Costco, especially when I tack on the gas to get to Costco (an hour away). I'm SURE the co-op has bulk baking yeast - probably in 3 colors or something. LOL

Nope - don't have winco. The internet says they're a western chain.

We're very densely populated here, so we have a wide selection of grocery stores - but I'm most fond of Kroger & Aldi.

And, I'm becoming increasingly fond of Amazon for things like coffee. My order is being shipped even as we speak. As dd says, "Oh, good, no more grouchy Mommy!" :o

But, really, I wouldn't let myself run ALL THE WAY OUT OF COFFEE!

If you need yeast, and find your co-op doesn't have it, let me know & I can mail you some : )

I got a small jar of Red Star yeast. It's the next *baby* step in yeast, I guess.

It's a good start : )

This is the package I buy (mine is 4.99 from GFS - I used to find it this way at Sam's back when I had a membership, too)
http://www.amazon.com/Red-Star-Active-Y ... star+yeast

But a little jar will get you rolling : )
