I wasn't sure where to put this, but figured I could put it here, since it's health related. Christian has taken an interest in the nutrition labels on food packages. The other day, he asked me in shock, "Iron? We have iron in our bodies?!" He was picturing a metal rod or something, lol. I gave a brief explanation that we have the mineral Iron in our bodies, but it's in a different form. But I wanted to give him a better explanation, so I looked it up and found that it is the same element, just in a different form, like I had thought. Leave it to my kids to think up things I've never thought about before and challenge me.
Anyways, he keeps talking about the calories in things and asking things like "What's Sat fat?". Well, ironically, we are studying Anatomy and Physiology (Apologia) this year and I just looked in the table of contents and it has a section on nutrition, that talks about vitamins, minerals, nutrition labels and all that. Perfect! But if anyone knows of any other good resources for a kid that's interested in this stuff, I would appreciate it, especially if it's in video form.
