This article addresses the issue of requiring milk to be on the menu at schools but the info is interesting.

The pro-milk people asked in the article "when was the last time you saw a school kid with milk on his tray?"

Well, reminds me of the old joke Man 1: My Dog doesn't eat meat. Man 2: Really? Why doesn't he eat meat? Man 1: I don't give him any!

My daughter loves kale! But, it's true, she would never have it if she had a school lunch tray - they don't serve it!

And, who says (cow) Milk is a drink children enjoy? I know lots of kids who HATE milk (as well as many others who love it). There is no universally beloved-by-children food.
