I bo't a snack thingy one year and never got in the habit of using it. It has 5 small "bins" that sit over ice in a lidded container. I came across it while clearing an area out and tho't I'd give it a try. I know I bo't certain things to go in there like radishes. I happened across a small package of snap peas and I was buying celery for other thing. I also bo't some grapes for a fruit "salad" so my container now has in it grapes, radishes, celery filled with cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs and snap peas. I'm hoping this will encourage us to snack healthier.

I also bo't about a quart's worth of Brazil/hazelnuts in the shell to snack on. I have some broccoli that will probably go in there next and maybe some cabbage chunks. Red and yellow bell pepper strips would be good, too. Melon chunks, too. I guess any cut up fruit and many veggies, eh?

I used to have a small appliance for baking just about 4 cookies at a time. I thought that would help. But, I disovered I'm the kind of person who will spend all day baking the next "little batch" of cookies.

If I make cookies, I take a few, then send the rest to dh's colleagues. I dare not keep stuff like that around - even in the freezer : (

I would get rid of the eggs, the cholesterol is not good. otherwise it sounds fine.

I used to tote around one of those mini igloo coolers with 1/2 cup containers with blood sugar leveling snacks, unsweetened applesauce with a dollop of nonfat plain yogurt, cheese and crackers, apple slices with peanut butter. Best breakfast: boiled egg, 1 slice toast and 1/2 cup orange juice or substitute that for 1/2 an apple and black coffee. Best lunch: chef salad. This is when I worked fulltime.

Oh, Linda, not the eggs! ;) I know there is a lot of disagreement on eggs, and for some they might be a negative culprit, but I am of the camp that they are good for you (eaten with white and yolk together). Like all things, too much can be an issue, but an egg a day or a few a week are part of a healthy eating plan.

Then again, I am one who can not eat any grains (although I am going to experiment with oats) or legumes and very little dairy, so we all are different in our bodies needs. It has taken me many years to figure what I can tolerate and what has negative effects on my body.
