:o
I'm doing terrible with my training and the half is only 4 weeks and 1 day away from today!!!
I did get on the treadmill this morning and ran/walked for 70 minutes.

I forgot to weigh in, too! I am just hoping I can get the time I need to train properly for the rest of this month. Part of it is my own fault, but part of it is just life getting in the way and weather.
I'm a fair weather runner! I don't like going in the heat and humidy, nor thunderstorms!
That doesn't leave much room here lately. We've only have a few hit-and-miss days of nice weather so far.
My ds is running this race also, and he's worse off than I am. The fartherest he's ever gone is 6.2 miles. He really needs to get some miles in.
I've told him to use the treadmill and so far, he hasn't. He's going to be hurting on race day! :?

Golly.. Cindy, I had to look it all up when I first started running. I had no idea how far anything was, either!!
A 5k is 3.1 miles long.

a half is 13.1 miles long.
I admit that the first time I saw how far a half marathon actually was, I freaked out big time! lol!

In our homeschool co-op today, we visited a sister-Church. I went by a new route (by car!) and it seemed to be VERY far. It was 7 miles total driving. I cannot *imagine* running almost twice that far!

It does take time to build up to it, lol!
When I first started about 2 1/2 years ago.. I could not go one mile without stopping to rest! I do still take walk breaks, so I'm not running the entire distance.
It gets to be more of a mental challenge than a physical one.
It's very easy for me to talk myself out of going for a run.

Oh, I'll GUARANTEE you're not NEARLY as good at that as I am!

I've succeeded at that particular challenge for, oh, I don't know, maybe 20 years now? ;)

I'm hoping to start running again after the baby is born. I really enjoyed running every morning.
