What did/will you celebrate with today?

Our table included:
Ham
Slow Cooker Oregano Potatoes
Sweet Potato Casserole
(here- but modified greatly http://blissfulyogajourney.blogspot.com/2015/09/vegan-mofo-share-something-vegan-with.html)
Green Beans Vinaigrette
Brussels Sprouts
Rolls
Cucumber Tomato Salad
Apple Cobbler/crumble - (whatever you wanna call it)
Assorted beverages
(Proper dessert still to come later - brownies or ice cream bars : )
And you - what's your holiday menu?

As it happened, we had a last minute change of plans, since DD has been sick & we couldn't go out. I'm not into the Thanksgiving holiday, and just try to make it nice for DD- and I thought we needed something more than being just-us-at-home.

But it turned out to be great. DD LOVED helping me cook- so much so that she said, "I hope this is as fun to eat as it is to make : )" And we've really enjoyed our little family day at home.

Howabout you?

I had a green bean/tofu/mushroom stir-fry, mashed potato w gravy, stuffing, and cranberry salad. That was more than enuf for me! I don't really need the stuffing AND the potatoes, tho'.

Sounds pretty yummy! I never thot of stir-fry for Thanksgiving! (Tho I have a friend who was hosted by Chinese-Americans one year for the holiday, and they had potstickers and a variety of other traditional Chinese foods : )

Is your DH well enuf to eat? Were you joined by anyone else? (since you said "I," I'm wondering)

I thought about mashed potatoes - I don't make them, I buy them ; ) but decided the other potatoes would go over better with the family : )

Honestly, Thanksgiving was not a good day for us. :( Dh had said some things that did not go down well with me. I slept in the guest room (a first) and then went off to work this morning without seeing him. :( He kind of demanded i "wash the dishes before coming to bed". There was a lid to wash. It would've been easy enuf but..... sigh. It was the principle of the thing! I washed the dishes this morning - after emptying more from the fridge and lunch bag. Ugh.

He said he prayed "for hours" last night and he is much better today. He is never a good communicator but he's been absolutely awful this week! I just don't feel i can play into it.

Now things are looking sketchy for getting to Spokane on monday! We have 4 cars. Dd totaled hers so we gave her one to use. Grandson's is in the shop so we gave him another one to use. Now dh's is in the shop waiting for a part with instructions NOT to use it! That leaves mom's 2 seater!!! We needed dh's or the one dd is using to get the 4 of us to Spokane on monday with the 2 dogs and a bird!

The Lord knows what's going on, right? Big deep breath. And dh said not to stress. If nothing else comes up he'll ask for a ride to Spokane from ds or ? Just relying on our Father in Heaven to work this out as He has so many other details. (*I* just like to know the plan ahead of time!!!)

Isn't Monday his procedure?

Call your Church and ask them to help you find a ride.

Call this number & ask for help.

Call the hospital and ask for advice.

All else fails, call uber.

I'm SO sorry you're both dealing with all these difficult emotions right now

Lots of prayers.

Uber - $150. I didn't even know we had Uber around here except one for the college. It's about another $100 for an XL and i'm not sure they'd transport animals! I think things are working out, tho'.

I wish I could come get you! (Tho, to be fair, my car couldn't hold you & your pets even if I COULD drive over there to help!)

$150. isn't bad, considering :geek: But, I appreciate that unaffordable is unaffordable.

I'm glad things seem to be working out. :)

If all else fails, you can rent a car/van for a few days, if the budget allows.

Also, any neighbors or friends who might pet-sit?
