wash the towels in the morning, have them drying in the evening while you wash one load of colored clothes. Next morning wash another load of colored clothes, have them drying while you fix dinner and have the men take them out of the dryer and hang them up. do one load a day. wash while watching a tv program, dry while another program comes on.

Alex, I do not know if you have seen a photo of Shelly but you two look alike, except that Shelly wears glasses. No kidding.

Another tip: If I have several loads to wash, I'll wash towels last. That way, if the end of the day comes around and I don't get to fold them.. I can leave them in the dryer overnight and fold them the next day.

On a similar note, I ALWAYS "Tumble-Press" clothes as I fold/hang up clothes from the dryer. Saves a TON of ironing.
If they ad to sit in the dryer for some reason, you can turn it on again for 10 minutes, and knock out a bunch of wrinkles : )

I don't iron, period. Our ironing board sits in the garage, lol. I just throw the shirt or whatever in the dryer for a few minutes and problem solved. I have never liked or been good at ironing. When we were in the military, dh ironed our uniforms because I was fired from that job, lol. The only time I would iron is if we had to look really fancy for something. We don't dress up.

I'm of a pretty similar mind on ironing : )
I spent one year of my life ironing shirts for a living. I'm done!
I CAN iron, but I don't think it's a good use of time, except in rare situations.
And, a GOOD dress shirt doesn't require ironing (not always the expensive ones, but the well made ones). Well made brands come out of the dryer nice - Arrow, Manhattan, Puritan (Wal-Mart's Brand, believe it or not!), and if you can find one Hathaways (they've gone out of business, but they made the best shirts ever : )
Of course, if you want pure linen or pure cotton, it will need *some* ironing - but if it's well made, it should only be the fabric, not the seams that require straightening out : )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNr1oLhZ0zsI can't believe in all that discussion, I forgot to mention Japanese shirt folding. It takes a minute or two to learn, but saves a bit of time on every load of t-shirts : )
