I've picked up my hooks and yarn and started crotcheting again. I'm making hats to give as Christmas gifts.

It doesn't cost me anything because I already have the supplies, but you know me.. I HAD to go to the craft store looking! I found a book of cute baby items, and some yarn in lovely colors! I only spent $25 and I've already made 6 hats... So overall not bad, huh?

I tried making booties and failed, so once I learn I'm going to make those too.

Soo.. The hats I made for the 3 babies are all too small. Its hard when going by a pattern and having no way to measure their heads.

So, here I go to remake three baby hats bigger!

I'm making my ex MIL a hat and matching scarf. It'll fit because adult hats are pretty much one size fits all.

yeah. I remember getting a wayy- too-small homemade hat for DD as a gift when she was about 1. Babies have HUGE heads!

By the time DD was 2or3, I bought her a hat (that fit her) but took to wearing it myself. It fit me. And I have a big head (both literally & figuratively ; )

And the 3 babies are different ages so that makes it harder. Im going to have the middle childs hat go to the 3 month old.. Lol.. Both are boys so I think a regifting is ok.. ;)
I'm redoing the girl (age 3) a new hat altogerher, and the middle boy will get one I have already made, just darker blue... Sooo maybe I'll get by with only having to make the one girls hat!

Regifting is CERTAINLY okay. (I favor regifting in almost any situation, btw!)

I believe the one that was made for DD was saved & repurposed as a doll hat. (In fact, it was about the right size for a standard 18" doll, I think)

Oohh... Great idea! I will make the girl a new hat just like the other hat, and let her keep the other one for her dolls!

These children are my boy's mentor's 3 children. I wanted to do this for their kids because this couple has done so much for my children over the years.

It's wonderful that your boy got a mentor who is such a blessing to you all! : )
