Just before thanksgiving I collected a big bin and half a garbage bag of pinecones from my frontyard. I have watched a few tutorials and read some how-tos. I bought a metal wreath form and some floral wire. Dipped half of them in white acrylic paint then sprinkled some iridescent glitter. It will be half natural, half fake snow. Our fake tree goes up today but I bought a candle called balsam snow that smells just right.

Oh, and the pinecone elves.

Oh my goodness - they're BEAUTIFUL!
Did you already make them yourself, or do you plan to? : )

Ooh! Those are so cute!
The park I go to has nice looking large pinecones. I had to leave them because I couldn't carry them, but I plan to take a bag next time so I can bring some home. I want some for the mantle.

I just put three together. I bought glitter felt, red and green, and ping pong balls for the heads. I already had a sheet of tan felt with a sticky back for the feet. I made a 4 1/4 inch loop 1/2 inch wide for the scarf and the tassel end was 4 3/4". I put that on top of the cone then hot glued the ping pong ball to the top. I had to ship off a shingle for it to sit well. I used ink for the eyes and mouth. Acrylic paint would peel off the ball. I got three hats out of one piece of felt and the balls were 6 for $4. I used a tiny pom pom from my craft stash to top the hat.

Thus picture above is from this blog
