I have discovered that professional cleaning companies don't really mop anymore.

They spray the floor with the cleanser, then wipe it clean with a rectangular microfiber mop.

No mop bucket, and even better, if you use a raking motion to clean, you can sweep and mop all at the same time, if the floor doesn't have too much debris before you start.

I got one like this from Deals for $5. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004ZIDYOW/ref ... Code%3Dasn

It works great. I can do the hard floors in my house in the time it used to take me to sweep.

I'm sure once in a while, a good wet mopping is still in order, but for everyday, it's a real timesaver.

So, you can call me lazy. I prefer to think of it as "efficient" tho 8-)

I've never used a mop and bucket, just the Swiffer. I've never used it to do sweeping AND mopping, though. Hmmmm.

Wow! Never!

I don't know why, but the swiffer and I never quite clicked. I make my own cleaner & like being able to use that with the microfiber. But, I would like the disposable-ness of the swiffer.

Nope, I can't remember the days before the Swiffer, lol. Guess it's been around for awhile.

Yup. You're officially young!

Certainly in the Air Force you used something else? Didn't you?

But, please tell me that the military still uses mops.

I was so scandalized when I found out you no longer had to polish shoes!

Uh, I'm not sure what the cleaning service used, but I think I did see them still using mops and buckets.

Oh, those no polish boots were AWESOME! I went out and bought a pair the second they came out with them, lol!

I use microfiber rags that attach to the mop I have. No wringing. I wet the rag with cleanser and rinse out some and then mop. and then go back over with a dry microfiber rag . When through throw it in the wash with the towels. and air dry.
