My dh loves his Swiffer wet jet and I hate buying the jug of refill cleaner, BUT... I saw a way to DIY! All you do is boil some water and stick the cap in the water for about 10 seconds. Then, using a towel on the hot cap, twist it off. Refill with the cleaner of your choice and put the cap back on.

I'm going to give this a try.

For the pads, chenille socks slipped over it. ??

Cool! I hate buying the refills, too, so I'm definitely going to try this.

Excellent! I've read you can also use chenille socks ($1 store) to slip over them.

So did you get the lid off the bottle? I've tried it before and never could get the lid off. I might have not had my water hot enough though.

I did! :) I used boiling water and it took more like a minute. Then I used a towel and twisted and off it came!
