Post subject:  Any Sewing machine experts out there?

Hi. I recently bought a second-hand Brother LS 2125 Sewing Machine. It runs (checked that before I bought it) but it doesn't *work* - the stitches tangle underneath & the thread breaks, and it makes a banging sound now & then. I've tried troubleshooting online - replaced needle, rewound & replaced bobbin, cleaned dust, bought new thread.

Now, I *think* it needs a timing adjustment. BUT I cannot find any instructions how to do that which are machine specific. I have found videos of other machines, but they are not similar enough to mine for me to figure it out.

Anyone really good at this? Know how & where to get a repair manual? (all the online ones I find appear to be scams) Any help appreciated!

Do you have a repair shop you can take it to?
I remember my mom's doing what you describe and boy did it drive her crazy!
She finally took it in and had it fixed.
It also "could" be the tension, but I couldn't begin to tell you how to fix that.

Well, I considered that. It's an $80. machine new. Service is $78. It cost me $15. to buy. SOOO - odds are if I can't fix it, I'll either go without or buy a new one. thanks, tho : )

I'll ask my mom... I do remember her complaining about the knocking noise.
If it's something you can do yourself, I'll let you know.
(MY memory isn't so great, lol!)
