Okay - time for a report. I've used almost my entire first batch (modified as I posted above. I have also had friends use it. We have used it in all sorts of local places. Places where mosquitos always bit before, but didn't when we were wearing this. Places where mosquitos were actively biting till we put it on. Places we had never been before, and applied it before starting out.
So far, for up to 2 or 3 hours exposure, I have not had a single bite happen when & where this stuff was applied! : )
I recommend it! (And, it DOES smell nice : )

Okay, used it today and got 3 bites : (
They were all in one area (around my right elbow) so perhaps I had not applied it as well as I thought - cannot be sure. And, we were in a place where the mosquitoes were very persistent & have gotten us bad before.
Little one got no bites on the same trip, but as she pointed out, she had on long sleeves & long pants.
So, conclusion - pretty good, but not foolproof.

Sat outside the other day for ds's den meeting and when I got home, I found out I had a bunch of mosquito bites. I was surprised because I haven't seen any mosquitoes since we moved here. We never get bit at the park or anything. Me being the paranoid person that I am told dh that I have West Nile virus now. We are right in the area where it is running rampant. Nice. Glad dd wasn't with me because she's a mosquito magnet like me. Ds doesn't get bit, so at least I don't have to worry about him. I will have to start carrying around repellent in case we sit outside.
