Some very good lentil recipes were posted on the old board, but I can't fine them. I went to a fancy-schmantzy gourmet "Fresh Market" store today and bought 3 bags of red lentils! (at $2.49 per lb!!!! The regular brown lentils are only $1.09 at my regular grocery store). I have been looking all over for red lentils. Anyway, I really do like them and would appreciate some good recipes!!! TIA!!!! |

I looked on the old board & found our old red lentil recipes. If you have an Indian Grocery in town, the red ones are usually MUCH cheaper there (I get them for about $1/#) -They're sold as "Split Masoor Dal" http://www.homeschoolchristian.com/foru ... 23&start=1 http://www.homeschoolchristian.com/foru ... =5&start=1 |

I'm working on re-doing the entire site right now, so I hope things will be easier to find! |

I think we are up to 6 traffic lights now. We actually have two grocery stores....Harvey's and Piggly Wiggly. Oh yes, and the new Dollar General Market. But alas! No Indian Groceries. I found the red lentils at a fancy gourmet-type store in Macon (at least 1 hour away....don't go there very often). The other possibility is about 35-45 minutes away. I will check to see if these places have Indian Groceries. We don't have ANYTHING other than the "staples" here, though. |
