I found a cheaper internet plan that will save $35/month! Yeah! We switched yesterday. :0)

Now I'm going to get rid of the home phone and use the new wireless base station that Straight Talk is offering for $15/month. That will save over $25/month.

I'm very excited about $60/month savings!!!

We are saving $120 per month! We had a bundle that included cable, land line and internet. We were also paying for an Alltell internet stick so we would have access when we went up to my parents (very re-mote and they have no computer/cable, etc)

We use our cell phones and the internet stick. I do not miss the cable at all....I always hated it....80 channels of trash. DH got a digital antenna that picks up a few channels....the weather channel (his favorite) Me TV (mostly old shows) the public tv station as well as a couple local stations. It's more than enough. It takes less than 30 seconds to flip through all the channels now! ;-)

Laurajean, we have the same tv shows, lol!
I'm still muddling about which way to go for internet. My dc want the bundle (internet, phone, etc) I am not sure.
I hate to lose the landline connection totally because cell phones don't always work.. however, if everyone else had only cell phones, and we lose power.. then I can't call anyone with my landline phone anyways! So what's the point of having it?

We haven't had landline in years, cable in decades. We totally don't miss it - in fact, we're MUCH happier without it.

Sometimes our phones don't work for 5 minutes or so (usually when an airplane is close, it seems) - I can live with that for $60/month!

Just make sure that cell is always charged,
When we had a land line, we had gotten a number that a woman had that was wanted by other city police and department stores wanting her to pay her bill. They would not accept that I was not and we got rid of the line and it was 55 dollars amonth back 10 yrs ago.

NOt to change the subject, did you check your email that I attached a recipe site for ?

We don't have any tv and don't miss it at all. You can get so much thru Netflix or Hulu or straight thru the station sites.

As for phones - we went cell only for awhile but our service is SO bad here that I went back to a landline. I very very seldom use my cell phone (except lately I've been playing cribbage on it that dh put on there for us to play together when we're out to eat or something). hehehe

Our puter is now thru our landline and the 2 together cost us about $75 a month.
