ULTIMATE VEGGIE BURGER

1 can pinto beans - rinsed and drained or black beans
1 can tomatoes with zesty mild chilies - drained
1 garlic clove - minced
1 tsp onion powder
2 green onions - chopped
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup parsley or cilantro
2 cups quick rolled oats
Process all but oats in a food processor. Place contents in a bowl and add oats. Form into patties and place on baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes then turn oven up to broil and cook for 2 to 5 more minutes until tops are browned.

Have you eaten these? What is the texture like. That has been my biggest issue with veggie burgers, that they aren't moist and the texture is so off from meat that it is hard to eat. I'd love to find a good one that my whole family would eat, especially my youngest who needs a good protein source.

As with any veggie burger it is the texture, you Have to use either quick oats or flour to hold it all together.
I put some bar b que sauce in min to give it some flavor. and you have to make them thick not thin.

I am going to try these, thank you. Pam, my family loves these frozen veggie burgers, they do have cheese in them, though.

I have a recipe that calls for lentils and I like them but the family does not.

I tried lentil ones and they were a bust for everyone. Very disappointing as I was trying to find a way to get lentil in our meals and thought it would be a great option. Not for this family. So, I will keep trying.
