I am a miniatures nut. I love everything about dollhouses, room boxes, and all manner of tiny little things. There's a miniatures show that comes to a hotel near me once a quarter; that's a happy time.

Hubby bought me some supplies for Christmas, which I haven't gotten around to using yet. I'd like to make the little one-room cottage into Grandfather's cottage from Heidi, so I'm researching decor from that era and locale. I may just have to watch the old Shirley Temple movie again!

I've also been putting together a room box for hubby called "Phil's room". It has a Craftsman inspired look to the decor along with a very modern laptop for the desk. I've been investigating wall coverings so that I can get it finished. I'm also thinking I may try to wire it for light.

One of these days, when I figure out how to do it, I'll post a picture of the dollhouse my dad made for my dd. It's incredible! It's at least 3 ft. high. It has two floors and an attic. It is fully furnished...even a toilet and bathtub in the bathroom! It also has two working clocks - one for the fireplace mantle and a miniature grandfather clock...my dad made it ALL...the house, the furniture, everything. My mom did a lot of the painting. It is truly a keepsake for dd. It was a work of love, for sure!

That sounds really neat, Pam! You'll have to post pics when you've finished these works of art!

Laurajean...the dollhouse sounds wondermous!!! What a beautiful work masterpiece for your dd to cherish through the years and share with her children!!! Your dad has amazing woodworking capabilities!!! I can't wait to see that, either.

I've been looking at some incredible houses on line. Here's a link to one gal's tea shop: http://smalltalk-minilover.blogspot.com ... -shop.html This is the overview picture, then she posted individual room shots. The stuff she does is outstanding! I can flip through her photos all day long.

How neat. I never had anything like these as a child. I imagine they are gorgeous!
