I would be so disappointed if I had a son who was willing to physically attack a girl, even if she "asked for it." Thank God for young men like this!

Our granddaughter wanted to join the wrestling team in 5th grade. We took her to the information meeting and found out they'd be wrestling the opposite gender. They're so young it's easy to think it "doesn't matter" and yet, we know it does. Do NOT get kids to think that it's normal to handle one another in that way.

One small part of me does want to admit that it could be handy for a girl to know some moves to drop an attacker. ;)

Self defense is good. But, if a woman is ever attacked, her attacker won't follow the formal rules for Greco-Roman wrestling! And, he probably won't even be in her same weight class! :ugeek: And, I think the Biblical advice to SCREAM is probably still the best defense in many such situations.

If I had to rely on my own physical strength against a malicious attacker twice my size - with my bad back - well, only the Grace of God would rescue me!
