Is it ok to panic yet? Why are none of the news agencies telling us what to actually DO in the event of a nuclear attack?! I Googled bomb shelters and can't find ANY information on the closest one? I'm so confused on why they just told us the missles can reach major U.S. cities, but then didn't tell us what to actually DO about it! Do they even care?

Well, I thought you were supposed to head to a bomb shelter to avoid the fallout. Aren't the big cities supposed to have them? For those who survive the initial blast?

If we have nuclear war, we are all going to be dead eventually. Just relax, and turn off the news.

I heard it on the news last night. I did find this article and ready.gov has some good info also. https://www.google.com/amp/www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/amp/don-t-run-get-inside-public-need-know-how-respond-n750466

Apparently, they have neglected the bomb shelters AND our missle defense system is not up to par. Suddenly, my opinion of this country has plummeted.

https://www.ready.gov/nuclear-blast

Here's some info if you haven't already searched. I don't know about others but i know *I* have "heard it all before" and like in the Boy That Cried Wolf, the hearers tend to get dubious. And practically speaking, there are too many variables to know the best thing to do. Like any disaster, having stored food and water is essential - if you're going to stay put. Having a battery-operated or crank radio would be very handy if power is out. And, if there's no "shelter" in your area, staying as deeply inside as you can for at least 24 hours is advised. (If you're close enuf to the actual target, you won't have to worry about it.) :ugeek:

I've been looking for news on it and it's not a big headline! I don't know what to think. It's so hard to find a good news source.

That's what worries me, the news is not making it a big deal. They hype up unimportant things, and downplay the important things. I think it's much worse than we're being told and I did read an article the other day that said the experts are saying different than the media, they are taking it much more seriously and see a real threat.

Back when this all started and everyone was laughing and making fun of Kim Jung whatever his name, I knew they were underestimating him. It's what always happens. You don't take a threat seriously until it's too late.
