Article of woman who got off work at a mall, gets in her car and then finds a shirt caught in her windshield. She drove off instead of getting out of car. Smart.

I usually make a visual of my car as I am heading towards it. I also do NOT like to see idling cars next to mine or people loitering in parking lot.

I'm usually very aware of weird situations. If something seems out of place, my radar goes off.

I'm glad this girl did the smart thing.

I've also seen where they will leave a $100 bill under the wiper, or expensive jewelry. It's scary how brazen they are getting.

It's sad how aware we have to be all the time but it really is the best way to avoid becoming a victim. Thanks for the reminder

This is good to know, I haven't heard of this before! The college campus I go to on Wednesday nights, just had an incident where a woman was walking to her car that was parked on the street, and a man came up and tried dragging her to his truck. She fought him off and escaped, but how scary! They put this campus in a bad area and it makes me mad. I carry a pocket knife and pepper spray, and park as close to the entrance as I can. I haven't felt unsafe walking to my car because it's close to the building, it's lighted, and my classmates are usually walking to their cars at the same time.

When alone I try to stick to a group even though "they" may not know it. I'm trying to teach my dd basic safety and she's oblivious to any danger.... Sigh. She doesn't drive so isn't off by herself yet, but I do worry about her lack of concern.

I carry pepper spray when I run.

Hmmmm. Sounds like a good time to "brandish" my concealed weapon! 8-) Or tazer, or bear spray.

If i had a phone, and i wasn't TOO scared, it seems like it would be good to call 911 right there so they could come and investigate those around. Driving off with a shirt over the window sounds iffy, too! LOL

Yep call 911 and sit there. Let the cops see who drives off really quickly when they drive up.
... "well darn it! THAT didn't go according to plan. "
