I grew up with people who discussed events like these. When dh's dad escaped c uba with his ship and crew shortly after the failed B ay of P igs (they never got US support - what they had been waiting for, and thousands were slaughtered), he had left his wife and 5 daughters behind. The family hid them the best they could. By a divine miracle they were allowed to leave 2yrs later, almost starved to death. Members at our t ea p arty, say all the time, if I am not here next week, come bail me out. |
