Who's burning it? I've heard it's devastating but that's about all i know.

A zoo was evacuated - the people, not the animals. Not much time to get out. :cry:

I think the high winds caused that particular one... Power lines went down or trees on powerlines made the fire and 60 mph winds spread the fire in mere seconds. We had a fire here earlier this year. Wind blew a tree onto power line in our front yard and started a fire instantly.

A local pastor is driving up to TN tonight to find his mother. He hasn't heard from her all day.

Scary and sad.

It's arson. I think they caught the guy, admitted to starting several fires.

Two nights ago there was someone here driving down back roads and setting fires. Six or seven down a lonely stretch of road after dark when they thought no one would notice until the fires were out of control. Thankfully some one smelled the smoke and went out to check! The fires were put out quickly enough.

People are horrible. Setting fires in areas where people live knowing they are in bed and may not get out!

I saw on the news, a guy saying he doesn't know if his wife and daughters got out alive. He spoke to them on the phone and they said the flames were across the street, he told them to get out and hasn't heard from them since. He's been searching the shelters and hasn't found them. I can't imagine.

They said they didn't know the cause of the fire yet.

The pastor is there. There is a curfew so he can't actively look tonight. But he knows his mother's house burned. Pray for these people. I can't imagine not being able to find loved ones under these circumstances.
