I sat in the Land and Resource Management Committee hearing that had several people testifying on the issue of eminent domain here in Texas. I went to support http://nacstop.org/standwithjulia/index.html Julia Trigg Crawford who has a canadian company trying to condemn her land because she will not sell or give them permission to install a pipeline on her property. I was saddened to see all the lawyers and high paid consultants for oil, gas companies testifying. I was sitting next to a reporter, who was obviously on the side of private property owners...she kept scribbling on her pad...bs, when the lawyers were talking. How sad, that all these lawyers throw $$$ numbers around, which to me is tantamount to a bribe. If you reside in TX and would like to show your support for private property owners check out Julia's website above and be there on the court date. I am planning to, hoping to take members of our local chapter of the t-party with me. |
