1775 New England patriots (not the football team) disagreed with the King's policies and the country was divided (Loyalists vs Patriots). What ensued was the War of Independence.

Today we are again as divided, maybe on the eve of a real American Revolution, can we go to arms?

Ah, but the side with the military and the police has a distinct advantage. I've always thought that one day the folks in the military are going to have to choose between what they swore - to defend the Constitution - and what they are ordered to do.
