Starting immediately, US workers will lose 6.2 percent of their paychecks in order to fund Social Security. The Associated Press says this will cost a typical American family earning $50,000 annually around $1,000 in 2013.

That's an *additional* 2% -

Last time I looked the percent removed was something like 7.6% per employee, with the employer giving a matching 7.6 (which has always been miserable for the self-employed, who pay both contributions) - so it looks like the amount has gone *down* in recent years (under Bush) and is now going back up, I guess.

I cannot plan my budget till probably February because no on really knows what they will take out and how much.
I figure I will have 300 less every two weeks, that is a lot of money.
I am so glad we are paying off all bills except the house which we cannot and I would not because I want to eventually move.
That way I know what comes in and goes out.
