Any *networked* tv has had this capability (technologically speaking) since the 70's. It's kind of amazing that this is the first known hacking incident. (by networked, I include Cable wires as well as other networking tech).

the turned off, unplugged, 13", 30 year old unit in our house probably won't help them much ; )

But, I do think my computer could easily be made to do the same thing. Perhaps a little tape over the camera lens would limit viewing?

Other types of hacking? if I put it in my computer, it can become public knowledge. Period.

Of course, if an unwanted viewer *saw* me, that would be much less harmful than if they saw, say, all my identifying numbers in the computer!
