Is anyone following the Olympic trials?
SoCalPam has posted on FB that her IRL friend's cousin is Tyler Clarey (sp) the Olympic swimmer!!
I'm SO thrilled for them. He is doing very well and has qualified for 2 swim events in London.
:D

I'm rooting for the 41 y/o mom and swimmer Dara Torre (sp)... I can never remember how to spell their names exactly... lol! I read her book which is something like "Age is just a number" or something like that.

I can't wait for the rest of the men's gymnastics team to be announced. The women will have finals on Sunday to see who is on their team. Go USA!

I've been watching all of it. My stupid DVR shows the recordings in an odd order so I don't always know if I'm watching them out of order. I'm still watching swimming. almost done with that. Probably have a couple of track & field left. Then I'll move on to gymnastics.

I love watching Lochte and Phelps. I think Lochte has grown up a lot, physically and mentally. That will serve him well. I have an online friend who knows Matt Greevers and all of his family.

My tv keeps going out, a lot like satelite does!! It's aggravating.
We keep losing the signal. We're working on it and I'm hoping we got it fixed enough to watch this afternoons trials without too many interuptions.

I've always been a bigger fan of the Winter Olympics, but I probably would watch some of it if we had a TV.

We haven't had any over the air television since the analog to digital switch. We got rid of satellite back in 2001 or so and had just used an antenna. We are, unfortunately, over 50 miles from the nearest transmission towers and on the north face of a ridge with those transmitters to the south, so we would have to put up a large antenna tower to receive any signal (we even tried a sizeable antenna atop the house with no luck). Alas, no olympics for us.

This is the first time in a long while that I have been able to watch. I have not seen as much as I had hoped, but I like watching swimming and gymnastics, so popping in to see what I can when I can. Women's gymnastics is what we have made a priority as we all love it, and my youngest dd is a gymnast, so is very interested in keeping up. We've seen a bit of the men's as well. Hope to see some swimming finals and gymnastics finals. We will be on the road three days in, and hope to catch some of it while we are out and about that week.
