The article didnt bring up the fact that yard sales are being restricted, it started in HOA's saying you could have 1-2 per year. In our town people ignore this, so far I havent heard of neighbors ratting on neighbors. Everyone here loves garage sales but as we get more of those types who have their undies on too tight complaining left and right because the wind doesnt blow in Texas like it does in elsewhere...

In our town they passed an ordinance a couple years ago limiting folks to 2 garage/yard sales per quarter, but also adding a large number of regulations on the sales. You can only put up signs if they have the address, the specific date, and the specific times of the sale. A sale can't last more than a few days (3 or 5, I don't recall). You can't sell new, unopened items in a garage/yard sale. Really? Yes, really.
