Sorry - didn't mean to be so terse. (I'm that way in PERSON - in typing it only gets worse!) I *mean* to say things kindly & gently.

My friends always say that I'm the bluntest person they know. I don't mean to be. But, my DH, Thank God, thinks I'm incredibly soft spoken & circumspect : )

No, no.. really. There IS a difference and I just didn't think of that when I posted.

A lot of these definitions are not even understood by people unless they've been there or are a professional in the field.

I wish I had a nickel for every person who told me "I would never want to be on a ventilator/respirator/life support" without even knowing what that meant.

My high school classmate, Tommy was on a ventilator for 14 years - could talk, joke with friends, go shopping, eat at restaurants, go to college . . . .

Yet, people have this image . . .
